Standard Magnum 4D โ Big vs Small Bets
Every Magnum 4D ticket requires you to choose between a Big bet or a Small bet. This choice affects both your chances of winning and the amount you win.
- Big bet โ your number can win across all five prize categories: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10 Special prizes and 10 Consolation prizes. More chances to win, but lower payouts for the top prizes.
- Small bet โ your number can only win 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize. Fewer chances, but significantly higher payouts if you hit the top three.
The minimum bet is RM 1 per number. All prize amounts below are per RM 1 staked.
Magnum 4D Prize Payouts
Big Bet Payouts
| Prize Category | Numbers Drawn | Payout per RM 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1st Prize | 1 number | RM 2,500 |
| 2nd Prize | 1 number | RM 1,000 |
| 3rd Prize | 1 number | RM 500 |
| Special Prize | 10 numbers | RM 180 |
| Consolation Prize | 10 numbers | RM 60 |
Small Bet Payouts
| Prize Category | Numbers Drawn | Payout per RM 1 |
|---|---|---|
| 1st Prize | 1 number | RM 3,500 |
| 2nd Prize | 1 number | RM 2,000 |
| 3rd Prize | 1 number | RM 1,000 |
| Special Prize | โ | Not eligible |
| Consolation Prize | โ | Not eligible |
Big vs Small โ which is better? A Small bet pays RM 3,500 for 1st prize vs RM 2,500 for a Big bet โ that's 40% more. But a Big bet gives you 23 winning numbers per draw (1+1+1+10+10) while a Small bet gives only 3. Your choice depends on whether you prefer more chances or a bigger payout if you win.
Magnum 4D mBox โ Permutation Betting
The mBox bet type allows you to cover all possible permutations of your chosen 4-digit number in a single ticket. If your number contains repeated digits, fewer permutations exist, which reduces the cost and adjusts the payout accordingly.
There are four mBox categories based on the number of unique permutations:
- mBox 24 โ all four digits are different (e.g. 1234) โ 24 permutations
- mBox 12 โ one pair of identical digits (e.g. 1123) โ 12 permutations
- mBox 6 โ two pairs of identical digits (e.g. 1122) โ 6 permutations
- mBox 4 โ three identical digits (e.g. 1112) โ 4 permutations
Because your RM 1 stake is divided across all permutations, the payout per winning match is proportionally lower. For example, an mBox 24 Big bet pays approximately RM 105 for 1st prize per RM 1 staked, compared to RM 2,500 for a straight Big bet. The trade-off is that any arrangement of your chosen digits wins โ making mBox a popular choice for players who want broader coverage.
Magnum 4D Jackpot
Magnum's standard jackpot game requires you to select two separate 4-digit numbers. The minimum stake is RM 2 per entry.
To win Jackpot 1, both of your numbers must match the 1st prize and one of the remaining top 22 drawn numbers exactly. The jackpot starts at a guaranteed minimum of RM 2,000,000 and accumulates with every rollover until someone wins.
Jackpot 2 is won when one of your numbers matches 1st prize and the other matches any of the top 22 drawn numbers in a different combination. Jackpot 2 prizes are a fixed pool distributed among all winners.
Group prizes (partial matches) pay between RM 28 and RM 168 depending on the combination matched.
Magnum 4D Jackpot Gold
Jackpot Gold combines a standard 4-digit number with a 2-digit "Golden Number." To win the top prize, your 4-digit number must match 1st prize and your 2-digit Golden Number must match a designated drawn golden number.
Additional prize tiers include a 3rd Prize of RM 100,000 for partial matches, making this format more rewarding at the lower tier than the standard Jackpot. Minimum stake is RM 2 per entry.
Magnum 4D Jackpot Powerball
Powerball adds an extra dimension to the standard 4D format. Players choose a 4-digit number plus two 2-digit Powerball numbers. The minimum stake is RM 2 per entry.
To win Jackpot 1 / 1st Prize, your 4-digit number must match 1st prize in the draw and both Powerball numbers must match. This combination pays a guaranteed minimum of RM 2,000,000 at 100% payout โ meaning no group sharing for the top prize.
Lower tier prizes are available for partial Powerball matches, making this format one of the more structured jackpot products Magnum offers.
How Draw Results Work
In every Magnum 4D draw, 23 winning numbers are drawn in total: 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize (the top three), followed by 10 Special prize numbers and 10 Consolation prize numbers. Your ticket wins if your chosen number exactly matches any of the 23 drawn numbers โ with the prize tier depending on which position your number matches.
Draws take place every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 PM MYT. You can see the full 4D Draw Date schedule including special draw dates on MY4DLIVE.
Understanding Your Odds
With 10,000 possible 4-digit combinations (0000โ9999) and 23 numbers drawn per session, the overall probability of any single number winning a prize in a Big bet is approximately 1 in 435. For 1st prize specifically, the odds are 1 in 10,000 per draw.
mBox bets improve your chances by covering multiple permutations โ an mBox 24 entry effectively covers 24 numbers at once, bringing the 1st prize odds closer to 1 in 417 for that specific set of digits.
